I don’t take any regular medicines

Herbal medicines and bitters

Keep taking your medicines from the clinic, even if you use herbal medicine. Some herbal mixtures and bitters contain alcohol, salt or liquorice, which can raise blood pressure, and some change how medicines work. Show the bottle to your nurse, doctor or pharmacist.

Some herbal mixtures and bitters can damage the kidneys. With kidney disease, high blood pressure or diabetes, don't take any without asking your health worker first.
